Found injured wildlife? Stay safe and get the right help quickly.
Knowing the first few steps makes a real difference. This is general guidance to help you act safely and connect with the right support.
Tracks of Change is not an emergency rescue service. If wildlife is injured, sick, orphaned or in danger, contact a qualified wildlife rescue service, carer or vet as soon as possible.

What to do

Check for traffic, pets, children and other dangers before you approach.

Keep calm
Reduce noise, movement and handling wherever you can.

Contain safely
Only if it is safe, place small animals in a ventilated box with a towel.

Keep warm and quiet
Somewhere dark, quiet and secure while you seek help.

Contact help
Call a wildlife rescue service, carer or vet for advice.
Never handle snakes, bats or large injured animals, and do not give food or water unless a carer or vet advises it.
