Volunteer
Lend a few hours. See the difference where you live.
Volunteers make almost everything we do possible. Register your interest and we will let you know when the next project or cleanup near you is on.

There is more than one way to help.
Not everyone wants to be out on a riverbank with a litter grabber, and that is fine. Plenty of the work happens elsewhere.
Community cleanups
The core of Beautifying Locally. Litter pickups and tidy-ups along tracks, parks and riverbanks.
Planting and habitat work
Native planting days, watering rounds and small habitat improvements that pay off over years.
Events and stalls
Community events, BBQs, market stalls and displays. Good for people who like talking to people.
Education support
Helping with resources, school activities and awareness campaigns across the region.
Content and media
Photos, video and updates from the field so the community can see what is actually happening.
Admin and planning
Behind-the-scenes coordination, rosters, grant support and the organising that keeps days running.
Trades, design, writing, photography, fundraising or tech skills to offer? Tell us in the form and we will find a use for them.
What a volunteer day actually looks like.
We keep it straightforward. You turn up, we run through the plan and the safety basics, and then we get on with it. Most people stay for a couple of hours and go home having made a visible difference to one spot.
- No experience needed. Most jobs are learn as you go.
- Gloves, bags, grabbers and hi-vis are provided.
- Sessions usually run a couple of hours, most often on a weekend.
- A short safety briefing before every session.
- Under 18s are welcome with a parent or guardian.
- You choose what you take on and how often.

A few hours goes further than most people expect.
Every cleanup, planting day and community project runs on volunteers. You do not need experience or gear, just a couple of hours and an interest in the place you live.
Register your interest.
Fill this in and we will be in touch as projects come up near you. There is no commitment at this stage.
